Albenza Cautions

DO NOT TAKE ALBENZA if you have had an allergic reaction to it, to any ingredient in this product, or to benzimidazoles (such as rabeprazole). Laboratory and/or medical tests, including liver function and complete blood cell counts may be performed to monitor your progress or to check for side effects. KEEP ALL DOCTOR AND LABORATORY APPOINTMENTS while you are using Albenza. Albenza may cause dizziness. DO NOT DRIVE, OPERATE MACHINERY, OR DO ANYTHING ELSE THAT COULD BE DANGEROUS until you know how you react to Albenza. Using Albenza alone, with other medicines, or with alcohol may lessen your ability to drive or to perform other potentially dangerous tasks. ALBENZA MAY RARELY LOWER YOUR RESISTANCE TO INFECTION. Prevent infection by avoiding contact with people with colds or other infections. Do not touch your eyes or the inside of your nose unless you have thoroughly washed your hands first. Tell your doctor if you notice signs of infection like fever, sore throat, or chills. BEFORE YOU BEGIN TAKING ANY NEW MEDICINE, either prescription or over-the-counter, check with your doctor or pharmacist. FOR WOMEN: You should have a negative pregnancy test before you start taking Albenza. AVOID BECOMING PREGNANT while you are taking Albenza and for at least 1 month after you stop taking it. You must use an effective form of birth control while you take Albenza and for at least 1 month after you stop taking it. Talk with your doctor if you have questions about effective birth control. DO NOT USE ALBENZA IF YOU ARE PREGNANT. If you think you may be pregnant, contact your doctor right away. You will need to discuss the benefits and risks of using Albenza during pregnancy. IT IS UNKNOWN IF ALBENZA IS EXCRETED IN BREAST MILK. IF YOU ARE OR WILL BE BREAST-FEEDING while you are using Albenza, check with your doctor or pharmacist to discuss the risks to your baby.
