Description

This medicine is a combination of 2 medicines used to treat open-angle glaucoma and increased pressure in the eye. It contains a selective alpha-2 adrenergic receptor agonist (brimonidine) and a beta-blocker (timolol). Fluid constantly flows into and out of your eye. When too much fluid flows in or too little fluid flows out of the eye, pressure in your eye increases. Over time this may be very harmful to your sight. This medicine works in 2 ways. It reduces the amount of fluid produced and flowing into your eye and also increases the amount of fluid that flows out of your eye. Both of these processes may help to reduce the amount of pressure in your eye. This medicine is for use in patients who have already tried using a single medicine, but have not had enough improvement in their condition. This medicine may be used to treat other conditions as determined by your doctor.

Directions

Follow the directions for using this medicine provided by your doctor. TO USE THIS MEDICINE: first, wash your hands. If you wear contact lenses remove them before using this medicine. Tilt your head back and with your index finger, pull the lower eyelid away from the eye to form a pouch. Drop the medicine into the pouch and gently close your eyes. Immediately use your finger to apply pressure to the inside corner of the eye and continue to apply pressure for 1 or 2 minutes after using the medicine, unless your doctor instructs you differently. Do not blink and keep your eyes closed for 1 or 2 minutes. Remove excess medicine around your eye with a clean tissue, being careful not to touch your eye. Wash your hands to remove any medicine that may be on them. TO PREVENT GERMS from entering your medicine, do not touch the applicator tip to any surface including your eye. If you are using other eye drops, the drops should be used at least 10 minutes apart. STORE THIS MEDICINE at room temperature between 59 and 77 degrees F (15 and 25 degrees C) in a tightly-closed container, away from heat and light. Use this medicine regularly to receive the most benefit from it. Using this medicine at the same time(s) each day will help you to remember.
