Cycloset Cautions

DO NOT TAKE CYCLOSET 0.8mg if you have had an allergic reaction to it, to any ingredient in this product, or to ergot alkaloids. DO NOT USE MORE THAN THE RECOMMENDED DOSE, use Cycloset 0.8mg more often than prescribed, or suddenly stop taking Cycloset 0.8mg without first checking with your doctor. Laboratory and/or medical tests may be performed to monitor your progress or to check for side effects. KEEP ALL DOCTOR AND LABORATORY APPOINTMENTS while you are using/taking Cycloset 0.8mg. BEFORE YOU HAVE ANY MEDICAL OR DENTAL TREATMENTS, EMERGENCY CARE, OR SURGERY, tell the doctor or dentist that you are taking Cycloset 0.8mg. Cycloset 0.8mg may cause drowsiness, dizziness, lightheadedness, or fainting. DO NOT DRIVE, OPERATE MACHINERY, OR DO ANYTHING ELSE THAT COULD BE DANGEROUS until you know how you react to Cycloset 0.8mg. Using Cycloset 0.8mg alone, along with other medicines, or with alcohol may lessen your ability to drive or to perform other potentially dangerous tasks. CYCLOSET 0.8mg MAY CAUSE DIZZINESS, lightheadedness, or fainting. This may be more likely to occur when you first start Cycloset 0.8mg or if your dose increases; however, it may occur at any time while you are taking Cycloset 0.8mg. Alcohol, hot weather, exercise, and fever can increase these effects. To prevent them, sit up or stand slowly, especially in the morning. Also, sit or lie down at the first sign of dizziness, lightheadedness, or weakness. CYCLOSET 0.8mg MAY CAUSE HYPOGLYCEMIA (low blood sugar). Signs of hypoglycemia include increased heartbeat, headache, chills, sweating, tremor, increased hunger, changes in vision, nervousness, weakness, dizziness, drowsiness, or fainting. It is a good habit to carry glucose tablets or gel to treat low blood sugar. If you do not have a reliable source of glucose available, eat a quick source of sugar such as table sugar, honey, or candy, or drink a glass of orange juice or non-diet soda to quickly raise your blood sugar level. TELL YOUR DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY about the reaction. To prevent hypoglycemia, eat meals on a regular schedule and do not skip meals. FEVER, INFECTION, INJURY, OR SURGERY MAY INCREASE YOUR RISK for high or low blood sugar levels. If any of these occur, check your blood sugar closely and tell your doctor right away. CARRY AN ID CARD at all times that says you have diabetes. CHECK YOUR BLOOD SUGAR LEVELS as directed by your doctor. If they are often higher than they should be and you take Cycloset 0.8mg exactly as prescribed, tell your doctor. FOLLOW THE DIET AND EXERCISE PROGRAM given to you by your health care provider. BEFORE YOU BEGIN TAKING ANY NEW MEDICINE, either prescription or over-the-counter, check with your doctor or pharmacist. CAUTION IS ADVISED WHEN USING CYCLOSET 0.8mg IN THE ELDERLY because they may be more sensitive to the effects of Cycloset 0.8mg. Low blood sugar levels may also be more difficult to recognize in the elderly. FOR WOMEN: IF YOU PLAN ON BECOMING PREGNANT, discuss with your doctor the benefits and risks of using Cycloset 0.8mg during pregnancy. IT IS UNKNOWN IF CYCLOSET 0.8mg IS EXCRETED in breast milk. DO NOT BREAST-FEED while taking Cycloset 0.8mg.
