What are Generics? A generic
drug is a copy of the brand-name drug with the same dosage, safety, strength, quality,

Description
This medicine is an antiemetic used in combination with other medicines to help prevent nausea and vomiting due to cancer drug treatment (chemotherapy). It is also used to prevent nausea and vomiting after surgery. This medicine works by blocking one of the body's chemicals (substance P/neurokinin 1) that causes vomiting.
Directions
Follow the directions for using this medicine provided by your doctor. This medicine comes with a patient leaflet. Read it carefully. Ask your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist any questions that you may have about this medicine. Take this medicine by mouth. It may be taken on an empty stomach or with food. The first dose is usually taken 1 hour before chemotherapy treatment. On the following days, the dose is taken usually once daily in the morning, or as directed by your doctor. It is important to follow your doctor's instructions for the timing of each dose and for the length of treatment. If you have any questions, consult your doctor or pharmacist. DO NOT START TO TAKE this medicine if you are already experiencing nausea and vomiting. Tell your doctor if you already have nausea and vomiting. Contact your doctor for further instructions. STORE THIS MEDICINE at room temperature between 68 and 77 degrees F (20 to 25 degrees C) in a tightly-closed container, away from heat, moisture, and light. It is important that each dose is taken according to the prescribed schedule. IF YOU MISS A DOSE OF THIS MEDICINE, contact your doctor or pharmacist immediately to establish a new dosing schedule.
Cautions
DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE if you have had an allergic reaction to it or are allergic to any ingredient in this product. Laboratory and/or medical tests, including liver function, kidney function, and white blood cell counts may be performed to monitor your progress or to check for side effects. KEEP ALL DOCTOR AND LABORATORY APPOINTMENTS while you are taking this medicine. AVOID ALCOHOL while you are using this medicine. THIS MEDICINE WILL ADD TO THE EFFECTS of alcohol and other depressants (such as sleep aids or tranquilizers). Ask your pharmacist if you have questions about which medicines are depressants. This medicine may cause dizziness. DO NOT DRIVE, OPERATE MACHINERY, OR DO ANYTHING ELSE THAT COULD BE DANGEROUS until you know how you react to this medicine. Using this medicine alone, with other medicines, or with alcohol may lessen your ability to drive or to perform other potentially dangerous tasks. BEFORE YOU BEGIN TAKING ANY NEW MEDICINE, either prescription or over-the-counter, check with your doctor or pharmacist. FOR WOMEN TAKING BIRTH CONTROL PILLS: This medicine may decrease the effectiveness of your birth control pills. To prevent pregnancy, you may need to use an additional form of birth control while using this medicine and for 1 month following the last dose of this medicine. FOR WOMEN: IF YOU PLAN ON BECOMING PREGNANT, discuss with your doctor the benefits and risks of using this medicine during pregnancy. IT IS UNKNOWN IF THIS MEDICINE IS EXCRETED in breast milk. DO NOT BREAST-FEED while taking this medicine.
Side Effects
SIDE EFFECTS that may occur while using this medicine include constipation, diarrhea, dizziness, headache, hiccups, loss of appetite, nausea, tiredness, upset stomach, and weakness. If they continue or are bothersome, check with your doctor. CONTACT YOUR DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY if you experience fast or irregular heartbeat, fever, shortness of breath, or sore throat. An allergic reaction to this medicine is unlikely, but seek immediate medical attention if it occurs. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include rash, itching, swelling, severe dizziness, or trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist.
