What are Generics? A generic
drug is a copy of the brand-name drug with the same dosage, safety, strength, quality,
how it is taken, performance, and intended use. Before generics become available
on the market, the generic company must prove it has the same active ingredients
as the brand-name and works the same way in the body in the same amount of time.
The only differences between generics and their brand-name counterparts is the generics
are less expensive and may look slightly different (e.g. different shape or color),
as trademark laws prevent a generic from looking exactly like the brand-name drug.
Generics are less expensive because generic manufacturers don't have to invest large
sums of money to invent a drug. When the brand-name patent expires, generic companies
can manufacture a copy of the brand-name drug and sell it at substantial discounts.
K9 Advantix Description
This is a non-prescription pet medicine for dogs and puppies 7 weeks or older, and is used to treat and prevent flea and tick infestations. K9 Advantix offers protection against fleas, ticks, biting parasites, mosquitoes, biting flies as well as lice. This pet medicine contains two active ingredients called Imidacloprid and Permethrin, which specifically target these biting pests to provide immediate relief to your pet.
The waterproof formula is applied monthly, and stops biting fleas within three to five minutes, and kills 98-100% of all fleas within 12 hours. The required dose is based on the weight of your dog or puppy.
This pet medicine is not for use on cats.
K9 Advantix Directions
This pet medicine is for use on dogs only. Do not this product on cats or other animals.
Directions for use: Part the hair on the dog’s back, between the shoulder blades, until the skin is visible. For dogs up to 20 lbs (9kg), apply the entire contents of the tube to this one spot. For dogs that weigh over 20 lbs (9kg), apply the contents of the applicator tube to the skin at 3 or 4 spots on the top of the back, from the shoulder to the base of the tail.
It is recommended to either bathe the dog just prior to application or wait several days afterwards before bathing. This waterproof formula will be effective during bathing and swimming, and your pet will be flea-free for one month.
If the household has cats or other animals, separate these animals from the treated dog for one hour, and ensure the product is completely dry before bringing them into contact.
