Lidoderm Description
This medicine is a local anesthetic used to treat pain associated with shingles. It may also be used to treat other conditions as determined by your doctor.
Lidoderm Directions
Follow the directions for using this medicine provided by your doctor. This medicine comes with a patient information leaflet. Read it carefully. Ask your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist any questions you may have about using this medicine. THIS MEDICINE IS AN ADHESIVE PATCH that should be placed directly onto the skin. BE SURE THE SKIN IS CLEAN AND DRY before applying the patch. Apply the patch over the painful area. Before removing the liner, the patch may be cut with scissors to a smaller size if it is too large for an area. If the painful area is larger than the patch, place the patch over the most painful area. YOU MAY APPLY UP TO 3 PATCHES at any one time for up to 12 hours within a 24-hour period (that is 12 hours with the patch(es) on, 12 hours with the patch(es) off). Wash your hands immediately after using this medicine. After removing a used patch, fold over with the sticky side together. Discard the patch out of reach of children and pets. If skin pain or burning occurs while patches are in place, remove the patches until the sensation goes away. STORE THIS MEDICINE at room temperature at 77 degrees F (25 degrees C) in the tightly-sealed original container, away from heat, moisture, and light. Brief storage between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 and 30 degrees C) is permitted.
