What are Generics? A generic
drug is a copy of the brand-name drug with the same dosage, safety, strength, quality,
how it is taken, performance, and intended use. Before generics become available
on the market, the generic company must prove it has the same active ingredients
as the brand-name and works the same way in the body in the same amount of time.
The only differences between generics and their brand-name counterparts is the generics
are less expensive and may look slightly different (e.g. different shape or color),
as trademark laws prevent a generic from looking exactly like the brand-name drug.
Generics are less expensive because generic manufacturers don't have to invest large
sums of money to invent a drug. When the brand-name patent expires, generic companies
can manufacture a copy of the brand-name drug and sell it at substantial discounts.
Nootropil Description
Piracetam is used alongside other medicines in the treatment of cortical myoclonus. This condition results in short involuntary movements, or muscle jerks, particularly in the arms and legs.
Nootropil Directions
Before beginning treatment, read the manufacturer's printed information leaflet.
Take piracetam exactly as directed by your doctor.
Piracetam is usually taken two or three times a day.
Piracetam tablets can be swallowed with a drink of water. Do not break or chew the tablets as piracetam has a bitter taste.
If you are taking the oral solution, drinking a glass of water or soft drink after taking your dose can help to take away the taste.
Try to take piracetam at the same times each day to avoid missing any doses.
If you forget to take a dose, take one as soon as you remember unless it is nearly time for your next dose in which case skip the missed dose. Do not take two doses at the same time to make up.
