Norditropin Description

Norditropin 5mg/1.5ml Solution is a growth hormone used to treat certain children or adults whose bodies do not produce enough growth hormone. It is also used to treat certain children who are not growing normally due to Turner syndrome or Noonan syndrome. It may also be used for other conditions as determined by your doctor.

Norditropin Directions

Follow the directions for using Norditropin 5mg/1.5ml Solution provided by your doctor. AN ADDITIONAL PATIENT INFORMATION LEAFLET is available with Norditropin 5mg/1.5ml Solution. Read it carefully. Ask your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist any questions that you may have about this information. A HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONAL will provide detailed instructions for the appropriate use of Norditropin 5mg/1.5ml Solution. Ask any questions that you may have about Norditropin 5mg/1.5ml Solution or giving injections. Norditropin 5mg/1.5ml Solution should be clear and colorless. DO NOT USE NORDITROPIN 5mg/1.5ml SOLUTION if it contain particles, is cloudy or discolored, or if the container is cracked or damaged. DO NOT SHAKE Norditropin 5mg/1.5ml Solution. BE SURE TO ROTATE your injection site as directed to avoid thickening or hardening of the skin. STORE UNOPENED CONTAINERS OF NORDITROPIN 5mg/1.5ml SOLUTION in the refrigerator between 36 and 46 degrees F (2 and 8 degrees C). Store opened containers of Norditropin 5mg/1.5ml Solution as directed on the product labeling. Do not freeze. Protect from light. Do not use Norditropin 5mg/1.5ml Solution past the expiration date on the label. IF YOU MISS A DOSE OF NORDITROPIN 5mg/1.5ml SOLUTION, use it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not use 2 doses at once.

Norditropin Cautions

DO NOT USE NORDITROPIN 5mg/1.5ml SOLUTION if you have had an allergic reaction to it, to any ingredient in this product, or to phenol. DO NOT EXCEED THE RECOMMENDED DOSE or use Norditropin 5mg/1.5ml Solution for longer than directed by your doctor. Doing so may increase your risk for side effects. Laboratory and/or medical tests, including blood sugar levels and thyroid function tests may be performed to monitor your progress or to check for side effects. KEEP ALL DOCTOR AND LABORATORY APPOINTMENTS while you are using Norditropin 5mg/1.5ml Solution. SEVERE AND SOMETIMES FATAL LUNG AND BREATHING PROBLEMS have occurred with use of Norditropin 5mg/1.5ml Solution in certain children with Prader-Willi syndrome. These children were usually either very overweight or had severe breathing problems (such as airway blockage, sleep apnea, lung or airway infection). The risk may be greater in males. Children with Prader-Willi syndrome should have certain breathing tests before they start Norditropin 5mg/1.5ml Solution. They should be monitored for signs of lung or airway infection. They should also have effective weight control. CONTACT THE DOCTOR AT ONCE if the patient develops irregular breathing during sleep, new or increased snoring, or symptoms of lung or airway infection (such as fever, coughing, sore throat, shortness of breath, chest pain or discomfort). Rarely, children using Norditropin 5mg/1.5ml Solution have experienced a slipped growth plate in the hip. CONTACT THE DOCTOR RIGHT AWAY if the patient develops hip or knee pain or a limp. BEFORE YOU BEGIN TAKING ANY NEW MEDICINE, either prescription or over-the-counter, check with your doctor or pharmacist. CAUTION IS ADVISED WHEN USING NORDITROPIN 5mg/1.5ml SOLUTION IN THE ELDERLY because they may be more sensitive to the effects of the medicine. FOR WOMEN: IF YOU PLAN ON BECOMING PREGNANT, discuss with your doctor the benefits and risks of using Norditropin 5mg/1.5ml Solution during pregnancy. IT IS UNKNOWN IF NORDITROPIN 5mg/1.5ml SOLUTION IS EXCRETED in breast milk. DO NOT BREAST-FEED while using Norditropin 5mg/1.5ml Solution. NORDITROPIN 5mg/1.5ml SOLUTION MAY AFFECT YOUR BLOOD SUGAR. IF YOU HAVE DIABETES, check blood sugar levels closely and ask your doctor before adjusting your diabetes medicine or changing your diet.

Norditropin Side Effects

SIDE EFFECTS that may occur while using Norditropin 5mg/1.5ml Solution include bone, muscle, or joint pain; increased appetite; stuffy nose; headache; increased sweating; mild flu-like symptoms; mild swelling of the hands or feet; prickling sensation of the skin; or redness or itching at the injection site. If they continue or are bothersome, check with your doctor. CHECK WITH YOUR DOCTOR AS SOON AS POSSIBLE if you experience burning, tingling, itching, or numbness in the palm of the hand, fingers, or wrist; ear pain or discomfort; hearing problems; persistent or severe cough or sore throat; severe or persistent swelling of the hands, ankles, or feet; persistent or unusual stomach pain; symptoms of high blood sugar (such as increased thirst, hunger, or urination); unusual weakness; or thickened or hardened skin at the injection site. CONTACT YOUR DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY if you experience chest pain, confusion, a change in the appearance or size of any mole, new growth on the skin, fever or chills, hip or knee pain, signs of increased pressure in the brain (such as nausea, vomiting with vision changes), fast heartbeat, mental or mood changes, severe stomach pain, shortness of breath, slurred speech, snoring or irregular breathing during sleep, one-sided weakness, severe or persistent headache or dizziness, or unusual bruising. AN ALLERGIC REACTION to Norditropin 5mg/1.5ml Solution is unlikely, but seek immediate medical attention if it occurs. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include rash, itching, swelling, severe dizziness, or trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist.
