Directions

Follow the directions for using this medicine provided by your doctor. STORE THIS MEDICINE at room temperature, away from heat and light. IF YOU MISS A DOSE OF THIS MEDICINE, take it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not take 2 doses at once.

Cautions

WHEN YOU FIRST START TAKING THIS MEDICINE, you may experience lightheadedness or dizziness when standing up. Getting up slowly may help. This medicine may cause drowsiness. Do not drive, operate machinery, or do anything else that could be dangerous until you know how you react to this medicine. This medicine may cause you to fall asleep during routine daily activities such as watching television or riding in a car. If you experience increased drowsiness or fall asleep while watching television, talking, eating, driving or riding in a car, or performing other routine daily activities, do not drive or perform other tasks that require you to be alert. This may occur even if you have been taking this medicine for an extended period of time. Contact your doctor if you experience this effect. Taking this medicine with alcohol or other medicines that cause drowsiness may increase the chances of falling asleep. DO NOT STOP taking this medicine without first checking with your doctor. Some conditions may become worse when the medicine is suddenly stopped. Your dose may need to be slowly lowered to avoid side effects. BEFORE YOU BEGIN TAKING ANY NEW MEDICINE, either prescription or over-the-counter, check with your doctor or pharmacist. CAUTION IS ADVISED WHEN USING THIS MEDICINE IN THE ELDERLY because they may be more sensitive to its effects, especially confusion, drowsiness, or swelling of the arms and legs. FOR WOMEN: IT IS UNKNOWN IF THIS MEDICINE IS EXCRETED in breast milk. DO NOT BREAST-FEED while taking this medicine.

Side Effects

SIDE EFFECTS, that may go away during treatment, include nausea, diarrhea, constipation, stomach upset, loss of appetite, drowsiness, dizziness, lightheadedness, or difficulty sleeping. If they continue or are bothersome, check with your doctor. CHECK WITH YOUR DOCTOR AS SOON AS POSSIBLE if you experience confusion, increased jerking movements, or see or hear strange things. If you experience an increase in drowsiness or fall asleep while performing routine daily activities, contact your doctor. Do not drive until you discuss this effect with your doctor. CONTACT YOUR DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY if you develop chest pain, fainting, unusually slow or fast heartbeat, trouble breathing, leg or foot swelling, or unusual weakness. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist.
