Taclonex Description
This medicine is an ointment used to treat psoriasis. It has anti-inflammatory properties which can reduce built-up scaly patches and clear psoriatic plaques on affected areas of skin.
Taclonex contains both a corticosteroid and vitamin D derivative.
Taclonex Directions
Follow the instructions provided by your doctor. Please read the enclosed medication leaflet carefully.
Directions for use:
1. Wash and completely dry the affected area.
2. Gently rub the ointment into your skin until evenly distributed. Do not bandage or wrap the affected area unless directed otherwise by your doctor.
3. Wash your hands immediately after using this medicine, unless your hands part of the area being treated.
Follow the dosage directions provided by your doctor. If you miss a dose and you are using one dose daily, apply the missed dose if you remember on the same day. If you do not remember until the next day, then skip the missed dose. Do not use two doses at once.
Store this medicine at room temperature between 68 and 77 degrees F (20 and 25 degrees C), in a tightly-closed container, away from heat, and light. Brief storage between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 and 30 degrees C) is permitted.
Taclonex Cautions
Do not use this medicine if you are allergic to it or any of the ingredients used in this product.
Please keep your doctor and laboratory appointments while taking this medicine, as your doctor may wish to monitor your progress with lab/medical tests. Do not exceed your dosage without consulting your doctor.
Avoid getting this medicine in your eyes or the inside of your mouth or nose. Do not use this ointment on the face, underarms, or groin areas.
It may take up to 3 or 4 weeks for you to notice an improvement in your symptoms. Do not stop using this product without consulting your doctor, even if your symptoms have cleared up.
This medicine may cause an increased sensitivity to sunlight. Avoid tanning beds, sunlamps and prolonged sun exposure. If you will be outside for prolonged periods, use ample sunscreen, wear protective clothing and remain in the shade as much as possible.
For women who wish to become pregnant, please discuss the risks of using this medicine during pregnancy with your doctor. Do not breast feed while using this medicine.
Taclonex Side Effects
Some potential side effects of Taclonex include mild itching, irritation, or dryness around the areas where the medicine is applied. If this is severe, or worsens over time, contact your doctor.
Contact your doctor as soon as possible if you experience changes in your normal skin appearance, such as thinning or brittle skin, discoloration, or stretch marks.
Symptoms of an allergic reaction include rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, or trouble breathing. If you experience of these symptoms, seek immediate medical attention.
