This medicine is a form of Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT), which serves to deliver female hormones to the body in the form of vaginal tablets. The hormone in Vagifem is called estradiol, which is about ten times more potent that estrogen. This medication is used to treat a number of conditions, and is also referred to as ‘estrogen therapy’.
This medicine is commonly used to relieve the symptoms associated with menopause, such as hot flashes, vaginal dryness, palpitations, mood swings, urinary frequency, and joint pain.
This medicine may be prescribed for other medical conditions as determined by your doctor.
