Maine once again is at the forefront in regards to affordable medication for Americans. In June of last year Maine passed a law allowing Mainers to order from licensed pharmacies in Canada, the United Kingdom, New Zealand and Australia. The good news for PlanetDrugsDirect customers in Maine is that we offer prescriptions from Canada, the United Kingdom, New Zealand and Australia.
Gabriel Levitt, Vice President of PharmacyChecker.com wrote “Maine passed a good law last year, lifting the state’s ban on personal prescription drug imports from pharmacies in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom. U.S. pharmacists and drug companies want Mainers to believe lifting the ban is not safe even though it is….”
Gabriel told us “I think the Maine Law is an encouraging development that could have positive ramifications of safe importation from online pharmacies.”
What’s good about this law for Maine is that it saves tons of taxpayer dollars at state and municipal levels. Some of our customers in Maine won’t be able to order products from our other pharmacies, but overall this is an excellent law put in place by Maine.
Why does this matter to non-Mainer Americans?
Currently, there is a lawsuit in Maine with big dollars and politics at stake. The result of this lawsuit could radically reduce prescription drug prices in the United States and, if things go well in Maine there are several other states that may consider following in their footsteps.
