Planet Drugs Direct’s 12 Months of Giving!

Have you decided on your New Year’s Resolutions? Perhaps you will decide to donate to those in need. Well, that is exactly what we at Planet Drugs Direct are planning to do as we are going to raise money for 12 different charities, one per month, throughout 2015. You can even help us decide which three will round out this needy group of organizations that we look forward to helping.

Here are the nine that we have decided on.

World Vision International

This organization has been providing humanitarian aid to children and communities throughout the world, helping them overcome injustice and poverty, ever since Robert Pierce founded it in 1950. Korean War orphans were the first children helped by it. World Vision International’s reach extends from its home base in Monrovia, Calif., into nearly 100 countries.

American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals

Beloved animals have been protected by this organization, which is based in New York, since 1866. Henry Bergh founded America’s first animal welfare organization as he believed that they deserved kind and respectful treatment. This organization is also provided with the legal authority to investigate crimes against animals and, if necessary, make arrests.

American Heart Association

This organization was the first dedicated to cardiovascular health when it was founded in 1924. It is best known as the preeminent force in heart education in the United States. The American Heart Association provides first aid training as well.

American Cancer Society

The American Cancer Society was founded in 1913 and has been battling this disease ever since with a goal of eliminating it altogether. The organization helps fund organizations that are looking for cures as well as helping individuals who have cancer. More than 2 million people volunteer with the American Cancer Society.

Habitat for Humanity International

This non-profit organization has been broadening access to affordable housing in order to help people break the cycle of poverty. It uses volunteer labor and donations in order to build and repair houses throughout the world. Habitat for Humanity International was founded in 1976, and it is based in Americus, Ga.

The Nature Conservancy

The Nature Conservancy protects lands and waters in more than 35 countries. Since it was founded in 1951, TNC has protected nearly 120 million acres of land and overseen marine conservation projects around the world. Hundreds of scientists help this organization perform at its best.

United Way Worldwide

This is another organization that touches lives throughout the world as it oversees nearly 2,000 United Ways in more than 40 countries. Its goals include increasing how many people enjoy access to quality education and healthcare and are financially stable. United Way Worldwide came into existence in 2009 when United Way of America and United Way International merged.

Alzheimer’s Association

The Alzheimer’s Association, founded in 1980, is the largest voluntary health organization for Alzheimer’s research, support and care. This organization works on a local, national and global level providing support and care for those affected by Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia.

St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital

This pediatric treatment and research facility provides medical care for children without denying anybody due to an inability to pay. The organization has helped improve the health of children in about 75 countries since it was founded in 1962. St. Jude has also played a role in increasing the cure rates of several diseases, including cancer.

Here’s how we need your help.

Our staff have chosen 4 other charities we would like to donate to. But, we only have room for three more! You are a significant part of who we are, and we are very interested in learning which organizations are important to you. In fact, we would like you to determine which three charities round out our year of giving, so please vote and let us know. The four charities to choose from are:

  • International Committee of the Red Cross
  • Boys and Girls Club of America
