This medicine is an anticholinergic drug used to treat urinary and bladder problems, such as urinary incontinence, frequent urination, urgency, and nocturnal enuresis (bed-wetting) in children.
This medicine contains the active ingredient oxybutynin, which works by relaxing the muscles of the bladder and reducing muscles spasms.
This medicine may be prescribed for other medical conditions as determined by your doctor.
Take this medicine as directed by your doctor. Swallow the tablet whole - do not crush, break or chew it. Take this medicine with a full glass of water. You may take this medicine with food or on an empty stomach. This medicine should be used regularly to achieve the maximum benefits.
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and take only your next scheduled dose. Do not take two doses at once.
Store this medicine at room temperature in a tightly closed container away from heat, light or moisture

This medicine may increase your risk of getting heat stroke. Avoid becoming overheated in hot weather or during exercise.
Caution is advised for elderly patients taking this medicine, as they may be more sensitive to the effects, especially dizziness.
For women who wish to become pregnant, please discuss the risks and benefits of this medicine with your doctor. It is not known if this drug is excreted into breast milk, therefore it is advised that you check with your doctor or pharmacist before deciding to breastfeed your baby.
Ditropan Side Effects
Side effects that may occur while using this medicine include blurred vision; constipation; diarrhea; dizziness; drowsiness; dry eyes, nose, skin, or mouth; headache; indigestion; nausea; stomach pain; taste changes; or trouble sleeping. If these persist for some time, or cause you concern, check with your doctor. To relieve dry mouth, suck on sugarless hard candy or ice chips, chew sugarless gum, drink water, or use a saliva substitute.
Contact your doctor immediately if you experience confusion; difficult or painful urination; fast or irregular heartbeat; fever; hallucinations; seizures; swelling of the hands, ankles, or feet; or vision problems.
Although an allergic reaction to this medicine is very unlikely, it is important to be aware of the symptoms and seek immediate medical attention if it occurs. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include rash, itching, swelling, severe dizziness, or trouble breathing.
